Forest Bathing San Juan Island - Stephanie Prima

What is Forest Bathing?

I’ll guide you through little-known areas of the forest. You’ll learn to fully engage your senses with mindfulness techniques that you can use anytime, anywhere, to manage stress in the moment, stay grounded and balanced.

You’ll come out of the forest feeling the peace of a spa experience not only in your body but in your emotional state as well.

“It’s unbelievable the ENERGY that you get from the earth!”

What do we do?

Clothes stay on in this cornerstone of preventative health care and healing in Japanese medicine, called Shinrin-yoku. Started during the 1980s, it refers to soaking up the sights, smells and sounds of a natural setting. Clinical studies in Japan have shown this practice promotes physiological and psychological health.

You’ll only walk a little over a mile on this excursion, but you must be able to navigate uneven and hilly terrain; walking sticks may be helpful. Allow at least two hours for the session and dress in layers; the outermost layer should be something you don’t mind getting dirty. These very private sessions are for you and your guest, 2 persons maximum, age 16 and up. Weather dependent.

“It’s the best thing ever! It’s SO relaxing!”
